Course Overview

The CompXM Simulation is an integrative capstone assessment designed to evaluate both strategic decision-making and applied business analysis skills. It combines two key components—Decision Rounds and a Board Query—to mirror the challenges of running a real-world company while demonstrating mastery of core business concepts.

Part I: Decision Rounds (1–5)

In the decision rounds, participants take on executive roles, managing a simulated company through five competitive cycles. Each round requires making integrated decisions in areas such as research and development, marketing, production, finance, human resources, and TQM initiatives. Students analyze competitor behavior, adapt to evolving market conditions, and balance short-term profitability with long-term strategic positioning.

Part II: Board Query

The board query portion assesses students’ ability to think critically, interpret complex data, and communicate insights effectively. Participants respond to board-level questions that require analyzing financial statements, market reports, and performance metrics. The focus is on synthesizing information into clear, concise, and evidence-based recommendations that reflect the expectations of a real corporate board.
